CAPE COD Hermès

CAPE COD Hermès

SMALL SIZE, BIG APPEAL

This small watch is a compact version of the famous case created 35 years ago, is available in steel or yellow gold, with or without diamonds, and exudes charm on the wrist, which it encircles with its leather strap in one turn… or two!

Created 35 years ago, in 1991 to be precise, the famous “round in a square” watch designed by Henri d’Origny for Hermès continues to expand its collection with the addition of a “mini” version this year. The Cape Cod has adopted a smaller format which, contrary to popular belief, is highly visible against the skin, expressing the Parisian brand’s watchmaking philosophy. Structured, unique, joyful, graphic, and slightly impertinent, this new addition is available in a “mini” range to appeal to a wide audience.

Hermès offers a choice of seven models with single or double-wrap straps in Athena calfskin or Chamkilight goatskin. Two metals are used to adorn the 27x20mm case: steel and yellow gold, polished or covered with a band of 46 diamonds that highlights the well-known geometric silhouette.

As for the dial, with its sunray finish – and this is where the choice can prove difficult – it comes in a variety of styles: silver or gold with four Arabic numerals or, for the gem-set versions, four small rhodium-plated pearls, or straw, slate, or red H without hour markers. Although its dimensions are modest compared to other members of this watch family (PM 31×23, GM 37×29, and TGM 41×33), the compact Cape Cod retains all its charm and horological capabilities, powered by a quartz movement, which are reflected in two small central hands displaying the hours and minutes.
