TOP TIME LIMITED EDITION
Fancy a dial with a powerful personality? Well then, this limited edition shouldn’t fail to impress you with its original vintage finery and up-to-the-minute engineering.
Back in the 1960s, Breitling wanted to attract a new kind of clientele. To achieve its aims, the brand rolled out a sporty-looking chronograph, totally breaking away from the classic conventions of the times. Its dial stood out with its surprising two-tone composition. The small seconds at 9 o’clock and the 30-minute totalizer at 3 reigned supreme in two black triangles whose tips merged together. Success was just around the corner and the Top Time was even flaunted by Sean Connery in one of his James Bond adventures Thunderball, released in 1965. The 2020 vintage Top Time Limited Edition doesn’t of course boast a Geiger counter like in the superproduction, but does feature all the adornments of the original model. This 2,000-piece limited series is, moreover, complemented by a brown nubuck strap clasped by an ardillon buckle.
The caliber 23, whose chronometry is COSC-certified, delivers some 48 hours of power reserve to the timepiece. This self-winding movement now nestles in a 41-mm diameter steel case.
Worth mentioning… the Top Time Limited Edition is Breitling’s first-ever watch to feature a forgery-proof digital passport. This guarantees the watch’s ownership and authenticity. If ever the watch is sold, the transfer is securely completed via a simple transaction made in the blockchain. Each piece also comes engraved with the inscription “ONE of 2000” on its caseback.
