BIG CROWN POINTER DATE BULLSEYE Oris

BIG CROWN POINTER DATE BULLSEYE Oris

THE POWER OF DESIGN

The independent watchmaker from Hölstein center stages its heritage with a savvy, elegant variation of one of its great classics, driven by an automatic caliber.

In 1938, Oris revealed a watch that would go down in the manufacture’s and watchmaking history, the Big Crown Pointer Date. The model, imagined in particular for aviation pioneers, stood out with its optimized ergonomics seen above all through its easily-gripable crown and its excellent data readability no matter the conditions of light. For this contemporary upgrade, the brand combines it with another of its great classics, a dial which collectors have nicknamed “Bullseye”. What’s so special about it? It flaunts several concentric circles that highlight the instantaneous date, in red this time round, the railway-style minute tracker, and a highly-contrasted hour chapter, set off with a combination of colors, glacier gray and deep black. For this iteration, this one-of-a-kind look is protected by a 38 mm-diameter, 12.20 mm-thick steel case.

The central calendar hand, along with the Super-LumiNova®-topped time data ones are driven by caliber 754. This selfwinding movement delivers a power reserve of 41 hours to the Big Crown Pointer Date Bullseye. During this period, the timepiece can be worn on a comfortable deer leather strap, crafted by Swiss firm Cervo Volante, which uses 100% vegetable tanning. When vintage spirit makes its mark as timeless, totally in vogue, and committed to a sustainable approach.
