Since 2017, Hublot has been staging its Big Bang Summer production in tune with seasons, rolling out limited editions that play on the energy, colors and spirit of the different quarters. As the end of the year comes around, two creations celebrate winter and its immaculate scenescapes. The Big Bang Unico Winter Sapphire conjures up the delicacy of snow and the limpidity of ice through its 42 mm-diameter sapphire-crystal case and the blue that adorns the openworked dial. This exclusive series’ 30 pieces are brought to life by the HUB1280 caliber assembled using some 354 components. This selfwinding movement delivers a power reserve of at least 72 hours to the watch. The translucent back offers an opportunity to discover a few of the inner workings, such as the surprising gray ruthenium-plated oscillating weight, shaped like a snowflake.
The same high-performing beating heart, developed in the manufacture’s workshops, meticulously drives the time data and short-cycle measurements in the Big Bang Unico Titanium Ceramic. This 200-piece series stands out with its 42 mm-diameter microblasted titanium case, topped with an incredibly-pure, scratchproof white ceramic bezel. Lightness and resistance are the name of the game here. What’s more, to ensure visual and decorative harmony, each model in this duo comes complete with a white rubber and calfskin strap set off with azure stitching. This classy, comfortable, characterful combination will definitely catch the eye in prestigious winter destinations nestling deep in the Alps.
