PRISMATIC ORANGE
With this new piece proposed as a limited edition, the watchmaker from Nyon racks up two incredible feats in a single watch: a pure orange sapphire case tinted directly in the solid material and an automatic tourbillon whose micro-rotor stands out dial-side.
Hublot, the first brand to have inaugurated the LVMH Watch Week on 25 January just past has proved once again that nothing or no-one will ever undermine its creativity, not even the slowdown caused by the health crisis which, if truth be told, really affected the sector. During this exclusive week, the Nyon-based firm unveiled its 2021 newcomers, in particular its Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Orange Sapphire. A watch which is doubly rare thanks to the material it center stages – sapphire crystal – and thanks to its dynamic color which has now been added to the palette imagined by Hublot and embracing yellow, black, blue, red and green.
This 50-piece limited edition, stunningly spectacular with the orangey play on light which sets it on fire, comprises a 45 mm-diameter, 15.30 mm-high case sculpted in sapphire crystal tinted directly in the solid material and polished, just like the bezel and lugs set off with titanium screws. The lightweight, scratchproof case hosts a totally transparent dial encircled by an orange flange with a white-hued minute tracker and is decorated with large Arabic numerals and baton-type indexes hovered over by two sizable hands, all silvered and highlighted with a dash of orange. Its blatantly-proud engineering flaunts its style perfectly: the micro-rotor swirls and twirls at 12 o’clock whilst the 1-minute tourbillon dances at 6. The manufacture’s new automatic MHUB6035 caliber, beating at a frequency of 3 Hz, delivers a power reserve of three days.
Thanks to its One Click, the ribbed rubber strap matching the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Orange Sapphire’s case can be interchanged as quick as a flash.
