Inspired by a historic bond forged on both sides of the Atlantic, this limited-edition chronograph reimagines an icon from the late 1960s through several nods to the United States.
The Chronomaster Revival A384 – Liberty II Edition, presented by Zenith, celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States by recalling a defining moment in the brand’s history. In the mid-19th century, Georges Favre-Jacot (1843–1917) discovered an industrial model across the Atlantic that fueled his ambition to bring all the watchmaking trades together under one roof. This vision would give rise to one of Switzerland’s first integrated watch manufactures. For this commemorative edition, the Le Locle-based watchmaker reimagines the A384, one of its most iconic models from 1969.
The watch features the same delicately tonneau-shaped 37mm case as its predecessor, available in stainless steel or forged carbon. Its white lacquered dial features three blue sub-dials and a central chronograph hand inspired by the U.S. flag. It is distinguished by thirteen red and white stripes evoking the founding colonies of the country. The “250” on the tachymeter scale and the number “4” on the date display are also highlighted in this vermilion hue. Powering the watch is the El Primero 400 automatic caliber, a direct descendant of the movement launched in 1969 and the first integrated high-frequency automatic chronograph. Operating at 5hz, it allows for readings to the nearest 1/10th of a second and offers approximately 50 hours of power reserve. Visible through a case back engraved with “America 250th Anniversary”, it powers a stainless steel edition limited to 250 pieces and a forged carbon version produced in a run of just 25 pieces, both reserved for the U.S. market.
