Featuring sapphire, crystallized osmium, and black ceramic, three limited editions from the Nyon-based manufacture push the boundaries of contemporary watchmaking and gem-setting.
Ten years after the debut of the Impact Bang pattern, Hublot evolves one of its most daring aesthetic signatures. Presented in a 42mm tonneau case, the new Spirit of Big Bang Impact collection explores the intersection of architecture, light, and material. Black ceramic, transparent sapphire, and crystallized osmium form a limited-edition trilogy, Sapphire, Sapphire Jewellery, and All Black, that celebrates the Art of Fusion. The highlight of this endeavor: the first-ever setting of diamonds directly into sapphire, achieved by the Nyon-based watchmaker.
From the dial to the bezel, the fragmented design appears to radiate around the moon phase display at 6 o’clock. Each element is positioned by hand with surgical precision. The Sapphire Jewellery version, limited to 20 pieces, combines a polished sapphire case with 145 fancy-cut diamonds set into the bezel and dial. The Sapphire version marries the transparency of sapphire crystal with the bluish reflections of crystallized osmium, one of the rarest metals in the world. Finally, the All Black edition plays on the subtle contrasts of its polished and microblasted black ceramic.
All three models are powered by the self-winding HUB1770 in-house caliber. This skeletonized movement, comprising 288 components, displays the hours and minutes at the center, the seconds in a sub-dial at 9 o’clock, the moon phases and a large date at 1 o’clock, while offering approximately 50 hours of power reserve. Each model is equipped with a textured rubber strap featuring the One-Click interchangeable system. Produced in limited editions of 20, 30, and 100 pieces respectively, these new models come with the Hublot 5+5 warranty, extended to ten years.
