AS APPEALING AS EVER
The brand from Le Locle brings one of its signature models up to date and unveils three wonderfully-classy iterations, driven by a caliber delivering 80 hours of autonomy.

Back in the 1950s, understated elegance and functionality kept good company. The Tissot Visodate was imagined and rolled out during this prosperous period, in 1954. Apart from the hour and minute hands, its dial featured an aperture set at 3 o’clock with an instantaneous display of the date which would change every day at midnight. This watch would subsequently become a collection. Each model in the range has always embraced the latest technical innovations yet has forever retained the historic model’s personality. This year, the brand recently showcased Visodate upgrades which pursue this desire to continually improve yet never alter the essence.
As such, the dial, available in blue, silver and black, boasts distinctive finishes that subtly highlight the hour chapter made up of slender markers hovered over by a duo of Super-LumiNova®-coated hands. This well-spaced scenography, topped by a glass dome, reigns inside a 39 mm-diameter steel case. This piece is worn on an integrated metal bracelet or leather strap, based on the version chosen. All the data is brought to life by the Powermatic 80 caliber visible through the sapphire-crystal back. This selfwinding movement, one of Tissot’s engineering feats, stands out with its up-to-the-minute performance. Its power reserve exceeds three days. The presence of a NivachronTM balance spring ensures greater resistance to magnetic fields and improves chronometric accuracy. In a nutshell, technique continues to keep pace with design.
