CELESTIAL MOVEMENT
This watch, a mix of shrewd transparency and watchmaking elaborateness, revamps itself through two interpretations enhanced with a double moon phase.

The Slim d’Hermès collection, launched in 2015, invites to read time in an understated, elegant way, yet without ever forsaking the uniqueness so dear to Hermès. Among the references in the range, the Slim d’Hermès Squelette Lune model is back centerstage this year with two novel variations that pursue the line’s stylistic approach. The first, a somewhat mysterious piece, combines a 39.5 mm-diameter grade 5 titanium case with an anthracite dial; the other goes for platinum and deep blue. Both retain the shrewd openworking which shapes the watch’s technical personality and, at the same time, ensures the movement plays a part in the highly-original design. The bridges take on a matching color for perfect visual harmony.
A double moon phase display comes to life in this savvily created labyrinth and offers a view of the Earth’s satellite from both Northern and Southern hemispheres. The complication, as well as the pair of fine hour and minute hands, is still driven by the manufacture H1953 caliber, equipped with a micro-rotor and beating at 21,600 vibrations an hour. This ultra-thin selfwinding movement, standing at just 3.57 mm high, delivers a power reserve of some 48 hours to the Slim d’Hermès Squelette Lune. Here, as per usual, the Parisian saddler uses its historic expertise to set off these variations with a comfortable strap fashioned in Barenia calfskin or mat alligator in the same hues as each version’s dominant shade.
