THE SAGA CONTINUES!
After the first three episodes presented in 2019 by the Le Locle-based manufacture in tribute to a figure from contemporary Japanese culture, it’s time for a fourth chapter with this piece limited to just 200 pieces.

In 2019, Zenith took a surprising cultural turn by presenting the first chapter of a tribute to a virtual character of Japanese origin, Lupin the 3rd. Based on a 1967 manga adapted into an anime in 1971, this hero, whose mischievous face is partially hidden by long sideburns and who is said to be the grandson of gentleman thief Arsène Lupin, another fictional character, is at the center of a watchmaking saga launched six years ago by the Le Locle-based manufacture. At the end of this autumn, the brand presents a fourth opus, this time dedicated to one of the main characters in this Japanese comic strip, a dandy expert in pistol shooting and a modern cowboy hidden under a hat, with the Chronomaster Revival Daisuke Jigen Edition watch.
This special timepiece, limited to just 200 pieces, echoes the style of the famous A384 reference from the late 1960s, with a vintage look accentuated by the microblasted titanium with matte anthracite finish covering its curved 37mm diameter case – including the crown and piston-style pushers – and the links of its “ladder” bracelet.
The sand-beige dial, punctuated by a trio of azure black counters, is curved with a tachymeter scale, further contributing to the old-school effect. The applied hour markers and central hands are coated with ecru Super-LumiNova®, while the date, located at 4:30, is displayed in white on a dark background. The standard time functions and chronograph are powered by the El Primero 400 caliber, a high-frequency (5Hz) self-winding mechanical movement with a power reserve of approximately 50 hours. The silhouette of Daisuke Jigen appears on the back of the watch, directly etched onto the sapphire crystal case back.
