CUT Hermès

SKY-COLORED TIME

Borrowing both shades of azure to shape the hours and rules of geometry to reinvent its own architecture: this is the creative mission that the Parisian brand set itself in order to bring this new watch to life.

Mastering form is an art in which Hermès excels, embracing it before applying it to all its crafts. This reinterpretation of geometry, stripped of its rigid codes, gives rise to creations that are both modern and timeless, as evidenced by its various watch collections. Cut is the latest addition to the Parisian brand’s watch range, launched in the first half of 2024. This timepiece combines the work of a watchmaker, a craftsman, and an architect in its unique silhouette. It now draws inspiration from the misty, delicately bluish tones of the azure sky to deliver two new references.

Machined from steel, the Cut‘s case has a cushion-shaped curve, with the sides cut to create angles and bevels. It measures 36mm in diameter, features a crown at 1:30, and is topped with a satin-finished bezel or one set with 56 diamonds, depending on the version chosen.

Matching the interchangeable rubber strap, the dial’s color borrows the shades of a slightly cloudy sky, a pale blue highlighted by an opaline finish. Applied, coated with gray PVD and white Super-LumiNova®, the Arabic numerals are indicated by the tips of two hands and a seconds hand finished with an orange dot. In the center, the minute track extends along an azure ring. The hours, minutes, and seconds are powered by a self-winding movement, the H1912 caliber. Vibrating at the standard frequency of 4Hz, this Hermès-designed motor provides a power reserve of approximately 50 hours when fully wound.
