SPECTACULAR SHOT

This edition limited to just 99 pieces offers unprecedented perspectives into horological design and time. Contemporary art becomes a live performance.

The MP-16 Arsham Droplet pocket watch in 2024 whisked collectors looking for original pieces into Daniel Arsham’s fascinating world. With the MP-17 Meca-10 Arsham Splash Titanium Sapphire, Hublot pursues its exclusive collaboration with the multidisciplinary artist. This partnership comes to life through a 42 mm-diameter case flaunting streamlined, organic design, crafted in titanium set off with a shiny microblasted finish. The metal takes on the shape of a frozen splash. “This collaboration with Hublot explores the fluidity of time through a case inspired by the perfect geometry of a water droplet… The watch’s transparent structure captures the clarity and motion of water, suspended, precise, and always in flux”, states the visual artist involved in this ever-so unexpected creation.

Inside this daring geometry, the hour and minute hands tick over directly above the components of the compact Meca-10 caliber. As there’s no dial, a kinetic sculpture with incredible architecture, enhanced by the omnipresence of verdigris, the New Yorker’s signature color, takes centerstage. The performance is much more than just visual. The manual-winding movement, assembled using some 264 parts, provides the MP-17 Meca-10 Arsham Splash Titanium Sapphire with unbelievable autonomy. Its power reserve totals 240 hours, i.e. 10 days. What’s more, to ensure the lucky wearer fully enjoys this masterpiece, the watch is complemented by a grained black rubber strap embossed with Daniel Arsham’s monogram.
