CLASSICS MONETA MOONPHASE Frederique Constant

CLASSICS MONETA MOONPHASE Frederique Constant

THE MOON RIMMED WITH FLUTES

The Geneva-based brand remains faithful to the aesthetic codes it introduced last year with this range and unveils two new timeless models to celebrate the start of fall.

Like a pair of hands dancing in circles across the face of a watch, trends often come and go in cycles. However, while fashions ebb and flow over time, some remain eternally contemporary, such as dress watches, which were popular in the 1970s and often worn at social events. Their timeless style is reflected in the Frederique Constant collections, notably the Classics Moneta Moonphase series unveiled last year, which the Geneva-based brand is expanding with two new references this fall.

What distinguishes a Classics Moneta Moonphase model from any other piece in this segment is its fluted flange, usually found on the bezel. This pleated band surrounds a sunray dial, available in silver white and navy blue, which features applied hour markers. Their faceted teardrop shape echoes the dauphine silhouette of the two central hour and minute hands. At 6 o’clock, surrounded by a thin metal bevel, the moon phase indicator continues its course, breaking down the days (27), hours (7), minutes (43), and seconds (12), all powered by a quartz movement. To complete this Seventies spirit, Frederique Constant has chosen to attach the steel case, polished or coated with yellow gold PVD, 37mm in diameter and 7.65mm thick, to two strands of brown calfskin leather embossed with crocodile scales or to a flexible mesh metal bracelet.
