A COLORFUL SUMMER
Like a gentle ritual that has been established for eight years now, the Nyon-based manufacture unveils at the beginning of summer a special edition dedicated to sunny destinations and seaside vacations.
It embodies THE watchmaking event that marks the start of the summer season and, by extension, the holiday period: the Big Bang Unico Summer 2025 watch. This moment in time, when voicemail is set to “OOO” and relaxation dominates the day’s schedule, has become a sweet ritual sponsored by Hublot, which for the past eight years has established a tradition of launching a special edition dedicated to sunny destinations as soon as the call to disconnect becomes urgent.
When the heat sets in, sometimes becoming scorching in certain parts of the world, ceramic is one of the few materials that does not suffocate the skin. Attractive for its lightness, robustness, and ability to maintain a tolerable temperature on the wrist, it is used to craft the 42mm orange case, 14.50mm thick, and its azure bezel punctuated with six titanium H screws.
The case of the Big Bang Unico Summer 2025, water-resistant to a depth of 100m, houses the Unico HUB1280 manufacture caliber, a 4Hz automatic chronograph movement with flyback function. The back-and-forth motion of its openworked and blued oscillating weight powers the barrel, providing a power reserve of up to 72 hours when the mechanism is fully wound. Its gears are partially visible through the transparent dial, on which the hour markers and Arabic numerals coated with white Super-LumiNova® appear to float. These are overlaid by the two large baton-style hands displaying the current time and the bright yellow chronograph seconds hand, whose counterweight features Hublot’s stylized H.
