BACK TO TIME
Some complications captivate with their technical mastery, others by the way they bring time to life, and this one combines both by revealing its inner workings with a readability designed for everyday use.

Observing time, but also how it works: with the 1975 Master Grand Date Rétrograde watch, Maurice Lacroix showcases the movement itself through an open architecture that reveals part of its mechanism. This new model introduces the 26th Masterpiece caliber developed by the Jura-based manufacture and builds on expertise acquired over more than 25 years. It combines a retrograde day indicator with a large date in a design where the act of telling time rarely takes a back seat to the pleasure of admiring the mechanics.
Housed in a 42mm-diameter stainless steel case, this model features a sapphire dial that reveals part of the sandblasted mainplate and rhodium-plated bridges, creating a subtle contrast between volumes and textures. At 12 o’clock, the large date display reveals its mechanism, while at 6 o’clock, the blued retrograde day hand performs its instantaneous return at the end of the week. The faceted hour and minute hands, coated with Super-LumiNova®, ensure easy readability in all conditions.

At the heart of the timepiece beats the ML302 in-house automatic caliber, which is wound by an openworked oscillating weight; the movement operates at 4hz and offers approximately 38 hours of power reserve. A black alligator-style strap, equipped with the Easy Strap Exchange system for tool-free replacement, completes this timepiece, which reaffirms Maurice Lacroix’s expertise in developing complications that are as expressive as they are accessible.
