After starting out in fashion by designing ties, Ralph Lauren founded his own clothing brand, Polo, in 1967. Three years later, the polo player straddling his steed became the brand logo which is now world famous. This icon embodies the bond between Ralph Lauren’s preppy style and the racing world which has heavily influenced the American designer’s collections. The Stirrup Petite epitomises this blend with its polished steel case (23.3x25mm) reminiscent of a stirrup hooked to the calfskin strap. The natural hue of the strap, its shape and the beige stitching brings to mind a saddle and its buckle. The black Roman hour numerals and subtle black minute track are printed on the delicate ivory lacquered dial. Two spear-shape black varnished hands track the hours and minutes brought to life by a Swiss made quartz movement. Price: 1,860 CHF
