HYSEK – IO ANNUAL CALENDAR
DEEP IN FORM
Shattering conventions and freeing creativity to give a contemporary display to one of the most classic complications. Hysek brilliantly rises to the challenge!
Practical and aesthetically attractive! Hysek has produced a modern design for a classic complication, the annual calendar. The brand’s products often stand out due to a determination to revolutionise watchmaking design. So when the brand tackles the association of hours, minutes, seconds and the date, the aim is not to produce a timepiece making us feel like we’ve seen it all before. Giving concrete form to this goal, the IO Annual Calendar displays the date and the month using three discs. Two of them display a large date in a double rectangular counter, and the third shows the current month in a stylised comma-shaped counter at 8 o’clock. The self-winding movement provides 44 hours of autonomy and flawlessly handles the months, whether they have 30 or 31 days in them. Only the month of February needs you to correct it by hand.
This unusual display is enhanced by a harmonious design on the dial. Arrow-shaped hands point to indices and to the four figures (1, 5, 7, 11) that are so dear to Hysek. A circular guilloché second counter rounds off the effect. The watch is housed in a 42-mm-wide steel case. The sapphire crystal caseback displays the calibre’s Geneva waves.
Two dial colours are on offer. One is a sunburst satin blue, associated with a blue alligator leather strap. The silver tone of the second is set off by an elegant black strap. The IO Annual Calendar can also be worn with a steel strap.
