SUPER CHRONOMAT B01 44
CUT OUT FOR TRAVEL
This sporty-spirited chronograph also invites you to jump from one continent to another without losing your time cues thanks to its highly-original independent second time zone.
Breitling’s Chronomat collection, unveiled back in 1984, was totally in tune with the “chic-sporty” codes of the times. And, it was with good reason that the 39 mm-diameter timepieces would become icons of the decade. In 2009, the manufacture relaunched the range with a 43.4 mm piece followed by a 42 mm in 2020. This year, chronographs are back in the watchmaking limelight with new up-to-the-minute variations known as Super Chronomat B01. They now boast 44 mm-diameter steel cases. One of them also stands out with its surprising UTC function nestling in the strap. On the main dial, we discover the pair of hour and minute hands as well as the indexes coated with Super-LumiNova®. The red central direct-drive, the 30-minute totalizer and the 12-hour counter ensure measuring time is ever-so easy. A small seconds and a date at 6 o’clock complete this data. A steel bezel with ceramic insert encircles this two-tone black and white composition.
Time data is driven by the Breitling 01 caliber. The chronometric accuracy of this selfwinding movement is certified by the COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute). Moreover, it delivers a generous power reserve of 70 hours.
The second time zone module, embedded in the steel “Rouleaux” bracelet, attached by a folding clasp, is powered by a quartz 61 caliber. Its battery with a lifespan of 60 months is set inside a 26.1 mm capsule. The whole Super Chronomat B01 44 UTC is waterproof to depths of 200 m.
