FIFTY FATHOMS BATHYSCAPHE SEDNA® GOLD
The inclusion of the highly-sustainable, perfectly-precious Sedna® gold adds a touch of sophistication to the versatile diver’s watch which is forever in tune with the times.
The Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe, a legend in the world of icons, has accompanied generations of professional divers and aficionados of underwater watches for years. Since it was unveiled for the first time back in 1953 and all the more so since its re-edition in 2013 in an up-to-the-minute version, this reference has adorned a host of materials and embraced a wide array of complications. This year, Blancpain invites us to discover an elegant model which combines a case fashioned in Sedna® gold, an intensely-hued gold, copper and palladium alloy and a dial whose blue is as deep as the oceans. The sunray-brushed finishes, the play on shimmer, light and contrasts gift the timepiece with excellent time-data readability. This is enhanced by the luminescent material which coats the rectangular hour and minute hands as well as the indexes. This airy composition is encircled by a blue unidirectional bezel crafted in the same material as the case and equipped with a ceramic insert and Ceragold® marker scale.
The high-performance 1315 caliber nestles inside the 43 mm-diameter case. This self-winding movement boasts an impressive power reserve of 5 days thanks to the presence of three series-coupled barrels. The sapphire-crystal caseback reveals the sandblasted, satin-brushed and “spiraling” Sedna® gold oscillating weight engraved with the manufacture’s logo.
This Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe is worn on a sailcloth strap or on a NATO-type strap, both dressed in blue.
