alpina worldtimer manufacture

Equipped with a manufacture movement following universal time, the Startime Pilot Manufacture Worldtimer shows the time in 24 cities simultaneously.

Is it mission impossible to display world times on your wrist in a totally simple way? At Alpina, it’s easy! With the Startimer Pilot Manufacture Worldtimer you can see the time at a glance in 24 time zones starting from GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). To do so, a clever mechanism associating two revolving discs is placed around the outside of the dial. The first, with markings for 24 hours, comes in two colours (day/night indicator) and turns around once a day. The second, on the outside, shows the names of 24 reference cities. All the settings are easy to change with the crown. Are you in Bangkok? Then you just need to place the name of the Thai capital at 12 o’clock. You can read the time of the other cities automatically.

The automatic 1L-718 manufacture movement is housed in a robust polished and brushed steel case that’s watertight down to 100m. This calibre is visible through the crystal back, and provides 42 hours of power reserve. At 6 o’clock, a disc shows the date using a small hand. By housing all this information in a generous 44mm-wide case and by playing with the contrasts, Alpina has made sure that all this time information is very easy to read.

The Startimer Pilot Manufacture Worldtimer is practical, but also elegant. The timepiece from the Startimer collection (ref. AL-718B4S6) is worn with a black crocodile-style strap and a steel folding clasp.
